Rodent Control with Effective Solutions
Our Services >> Rodent Control If you have a rodent problem, Effective Solutions have a safe, non toxic solution to your pest problem. Contact us now to see how we can assist you. Effective Solutions’ staff will assess the area to be treated. Bait Stations will then be placed in strategic areas, to ensure that control will be achieved. Bait is never indiscriminately scattered. In order to effectively control a severe rodent infestation, two treatments may be required within a period of four weeks. In most cases however, two to four treatments per year will suffice. In city buildings and on small holdings more regular treatments should be maintained. |

Tamper proof bait stations
In areas where non-target species may be exposed to rodent bait, we use lockable tamper proof bait stations or bait pipes. These units are also placed inside warehouses, factories, storerooms and staff changing rooms. Once locked, the rodent bait cannot be removed.

Facts about rodents
Rodents have been responsible for the spread of various diseases to human and animals for many years. However, because of improved sanitation* and rodent control programs, the disease threat from rodents is not as significant as it used to be. There are still cases of humans and animals being affected though. Rodents gnaw through boxes, sacks and packets in which foodstuff is
stored. They also contaminate foodstuff with their urine and droppings. Rodents cause extensive damage to electrical cables in ceilings and in machinery. The primary reason then for the control of rodents is to prevent loss to stored foodstuff and damage to equipment. *Excluding high-density living conditions
Rodents
- Have a highly developed sense of smell and taste, and will reject anything unfamiliar, initially.
- Are nocturnal creatures, know their territory well, and know where to find food and water.
- Travel along routes, leaving well defined trails.
- Can climb vertical or horizontal wires or pipes and up rough walls.
- Multiply rapidly
- Infest buildings in a large number of separate groups, rather than one large population.
Be smarter than rodents are by:
- Maintaining good housekeeping.
- Remove refuse promptly.
- Ensuring good sanitation.
- Storing foodstuff in sealed containers.
- Sealing holes where pipes and wiring pass through exterior walls.
- Ensuring watertight taps.
- Maintaining good drainage
